Jana Traplová is an Attorney-at-Law who specialises in intellectual property, especially in litigation in the field of trademarks; customs proceedings; counterfeit and forgery cases; domain names issues, as well as licensing agreements. Ms Traplová also specialises in unfair competition and copyright law cases.
Ms Traplová received her legal education at the Faculty of Law of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen. Upon her graduation in 2007, she joined the Law and Patent Offices of THK, as a junior associate. She had previously worked there during her studies. In 2011 she was admitted to the Czech Bar as an Attorney-at-Law. At the same time, Ms Traplová was a member of the Business Law Department at the University of Business in Prague, where she lectured on Business Law. She also completed a two-year specialisation course in the Industrial Property Training Institute of the Industrial Property Office. In December 2012 she became a partner in the Law and Patent Offices of THK. Besides Czech, she speaks English fluently.
Ms Traplová is a member of a number of professional organizations, such as the Czech Bar Association; the Czech Lawyers Union; the Czech branch of the International League of Competition Law (where she served as Committee Secretary). Furthermore, she is a member of such organisations as: the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property, as well as other international bodies connected with her specialisation; for example: INTA, ECTA (as a member of the Committee for the Fight Against Counterfeiting), MARQUES, as well as the Czech branch of LES.
