Tomáš Pavlica is a patent attorney with over 20 years of experience in Industrial Property Rights protection. He specialises in the field of electrical engineering, including power engineering, and mechanical engineering.

Mr Pavlica is a graduate of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague. He has also completed a programme of postgraduate studies at the University of London – Queen Mary and Westfield College. This was a programme for young lawyers from Eastern Europe, and it focused on Industrial Property Rights. He also completed a two-year specialisation course at the Institute for Industrial Law Training of the Industrial Property Office. In addition, Mr Pavlica undertook an internship, of several months duration, at Marks & Clerk, the largest British firm in the field of Industrial Property Rights. He also took part in a basic course in European Patent Law, which was organised by the University of Robert Schuman in Strasburg. Prior to his joining the Law and Patent Offices of THK, he had been working as a patent attorney in another large Prague Patent Law firm. Mr Pavlica is also a European patent attorney, as well as being a member of the Chamber of Patent Attorneys, and of the EPI. In addition to Czech, he speaks fluent English and German.
